Who can apply ?

Undergraduate students pursuing BE / B.Tech (AICTE approved) or equivalent qualification, completion of which will make them eligible for Corporate Membership.

Benefits of Membership

• Student Members (SMIE) are eligible for free e-access of IEI-Journals (Series A, Series B, Series C, Series D, Series E) by logging through www.ieindia.org

• SMIEs may access the IEI Library (Sir R N Mookerjee Engineering Information Service Centre) at the headquarters in Kolkata.

• SMIEs may access the IEI Library at State and Local Centres of IEI located in various places of the country.

• SMIEs are having opportunity to participate various technical events e.g. Seminars, Symposium, Conventions, Workshops etc. organized by various IEI Centres at State, National and International levels at a concessional rate.

• Student Members may avail the opportunity of staying in any of the IEI guest houses at a concessional rate.

• SMIEs are eligible to get research grants for completion of their final year project / thesis work, which benefits their career enhancement in research & development field.

• SMIEs are having opportunity to become Corporate Member of IEI within one year of passing Engineering at a discounted rate.

• SMIEs are eligible to participate technical activities organised by Students’ Chapter of IEI to get Mandatory Additional Credit point during their study.

• SMIEs are having opportunity to publish the articles in Students’ Journal published by IEI.

• SMIEs are eligible to participate actively in Regional Conclave organised by IEI.

(i) Student Member (SMIE) - Rs.1,500/- including applicable taxes.
